Bad weather forces cancellation of evening activities

ALL youth clubs and college courses scheduled to run this evening have been cancelled.

 

The Department of Education and Children has made the decision after a severe weather warning was launched by the Met Office yesterday.

 

Courses run by the Isle of Man colleges at centres throughout the Island have been cancelled as have all youth clubs and any events run in buildings owned by the department.

 

However all schools will close at the normal time this afternoon (Thursday).

 

The Manx Labour Party's monthly meeting of the executive has also been cancelled. It was due to be held at the South Douglas Old Friends Club on Finch Road but will now be rescheduled.

 

Flights and sailings to and from the Island have also been affected today with the Steam Packet cancelling all services and Manx2.com cancelling all services after 3pm.
