Respects paid to war dead

The Isle of Man has marked Armistice Day with a two-minute silence.

Respects were paid at war memorials around the Island, as people paused to remember those who have given their lives in conflicts across the world.

A service on Douglas promenade saw veterans' groups gather, accompanied by Lieutenant Governor Sir Paul Haddacks and Mayor of Douglas Ritchie McNicholl.

Major Charles Wilson says as time goes by, we are remembering those who have lost their lives in conflicts after the end of World War II:
