Treasury Minister Anne Craine says people shouldn’t think they can get away with holding the Manx government to ransom.
In the House of Keys this week, she said people expected the government to pay more than the going rate for land and developments.
But, with finances tighter than ever, she is warning that can’t be the case, and schemes will be looked at very carefully.
Her comments came during discussions on a ?300,000 scheme to redevelop Silverdale Glen, but afterwards Mrs Craine says she wasn't speaking about any project in particular:
