ISLAND businessman Stuart Baggs has survived yet another week on The Apprentice – despite being in the losing team for the third week running.
Stuart's sixth week in the competition did not get off to the best of starts with a sleepy Stuart being woken up by Lord Alan Sugar when he made a surprise visit to the contestants.
Lord Sugar was not impressed when the 21 year old greeted him dressed in shorts and socks and told him "you look a bit of a mess this morning – is this Stuart Baggs the brand?"
The task this week was to create a new brand of household cleaner.
As well as designing the packaging the teams were responsible for picking a new brand name and creating an advertising campaign for the TV and radio.
Stuart was quick to put himself forward as project manger for Team Apollo although his fellow contestants voted for unemployed head of communications Alex instead.
The team struggled to come up with initial product ideas with Stuart declaring one "the worst idea ever".
Pushed for time the team finally settled on the name "Germ-O-Nator" with Stuart coming up with the tagline "hasta la vista gravy".
Tasked with recording the radio campaign Stuart looked like a dog with a bone as he took to the microphone.
Although sadly his efforts were not entirely appreciated with colleague Laura telling him he "sounded like someone being sick".
The Guardian's live blogger, Heidi Stephens, commented: "It is heartening to know that when Lord Sugar doesn't employ Stuart – which he almost certainly won't – a career in hospital radio beckons."
With the adverts finished the team presented the product in front of top advertising executives.
Stuart was quick to respond to criticism of the product's look commenting: "I'd kind of liken it to an ugly man. He'd rather get some attention so he can convince somebody he's a nice guy than just have people walk past him. People will go that's ugly but it actually works."
Lord Sugar showed his disapproval for both team's products but declared Team Apollo the losers calling the product "the most horrible thing I've seen in the bathroom since Psycho."
Stuart managed to escape being brought back into the boardroom with project manager Alex choosing to bring back Chris and Sandeesh instead.
Alex was eventually fired echoing a prediction made by Stuart at the start of the episode when he said: "Make no mistake if we lose this one the project manager is going to get fired."
The Apprentice continues on BBC 1 at 9pm next Wednesday, November 17.
