THE ice skating rink and Dancing on Ice star Kyran Bracken will be making a welcome return to the Island later this month.
Sure Winter Skate will be back in the Villa Marina Gardens from November 27.
Ex-England rugby player Kyran will be on hand to launch and run a new ice skating competition for locals called The Ice Factor.
It will be Kyran's third time on the Island having visited last winter and again at Sure Summer Skate this year.
He said: "It's great to be coming back to the Island as I really enjoyed my last two visits. Sure Skate is a wonderful family experience and the new competition, Ice Factor, will bring even more fun to the Island's winter season. I'm really glad I can be a part of it."
The Ice Factor will focus on finding the Island's best ice skaters. Everyone is welcome to audition for a place in the competition which will be judged by Kyran and Sure and Manx Radio representatives.
Five of the best skaters from the auditions will be given "golden passes" to the rink to allow them the maximum possible amount of practice before they perform in the final on January 3.
Kate Hegarty, marketing manager for Sure, said: "Sure Skate was a really popular feature of the festive season last year and we're delighted we can bring it back again. We're adding something new with Ice Factor and we hope it will add something special to this year’s experience."
Community, Culture, and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK also commented. He said: "I am delighted that Sure Skate is returning to the Villa Marina Gardens this Christmas to kick off the festive period. It provides excellent entertainment and the Ice Factor promises to add another dimension to what is quickly becoming a favourite addition to holiday seasons at the Villa Marina."
Auditions for the Ice Factor will commence at 11am on Saturday November 27.
Anyone interested in taking part should email vicky@ashgrovemarketing.com by November 26 with their name and address in order to register.
The Sure Skate rink is located in the Villa Marina Gardens and will be open to the public for skating from 12pm on November 27. It will run until January 3. Opening hours are 9am to 10pm every day.
