Ramsey’s proposed Area of Special Scientific Interest is up for discussion again in the House of Keys this morning (Tuesday).
Onchan MHK Peter Karran will ask Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister John Shimmin about the future of the area.
The ASSI became a hot political topic in Ramsey after DEFA announced it wanted to assign the status to the town's estuary.
But there's concern that affording the protection to the habitats there could stifle development around the harbour.
Mr Karran wants to know whether the ASSI, the creation of which has already been granted, will be confirmed, altered or withdrawn.
His question follows a consultation period when the department invited comments from the public.
In his question, Mr Karran points out that ended in October, and he wants to know what is going to happen next.
