The funeral of Manx student Jamie Haslett is taking place in Onchan (1.40pm, Friday).

He died after reportedly being hit by a police car in Sheffield, in the early hours of last Wednesday morning.

Jamie was in his second year at Sheffield Hallam University where he was studying Sport and Business Management.

His death is under investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Jamie was a former student at St Ninian’s High School where he was remembered as 'a friendly, sociable, well liked and respected young man'.

He played football for Laxey and was a member of Manx Harriers.

The funeral is at St Peter's Church.
