Isle of Man guitar ace Davy Knowles releases signature guitar pedal

by isleofman.com 4th November 2010

A SIGNATURE guitar pedal bearing the name of the Isle of Man's Davy Knowles has just been released.

The former Port St Mary man, who now lives in America, lends his name to the Davy Knowles Signature Pedal: The Chubb Up! Octave Fuzz.

It has been released by the company Freekish Blues.

The Chubb Up! was designed and engineered with the vintage octave fuzz and fuzz pedals of the late '60s and early '70s in mind.

Davy, who has recently played a handful of dates in Europe with Back Door Slam as well as visiting the Island for a brief visit, said: "I am immensely proud to put my name on such a fantastic product.

"The quality of tone and playability of this pedal is just fantastic.

"There are so many rich harmonics that are apparent in this pedal that I was actually getting multiple notes. So much so that it was like an extra bonus effect!

"Such a wonderful tone and using the guitars volume you can really dive into how responsive this pedal can be. I can see this being an important part of my rig for many many years to come."

Davy has so far released two albums: Roll Away (as part of Back Door Slam) and Coming Up For Air (under the name Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam).
