Mission delayed again for astronaut Nicole

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2010

ASTRONAUT Nicole Stott will have to wait until tomorrow (Thursday) to make space history.

Nicole, who is married to Manxman Chris – the chairman of local space company MannSat – will take part in the final flight of the space shuttle Discovery.

Mission STS-133 was expected to take off today (Wednesday) after its original launch date of Monday, November 1, was put off due to the need for last minute repairs.

According to NASA the mission has been put on hold again whilst engineers look more deeply at two electrical issues from a main engine controller. Chairman of the Mission Management Team, Mike Moses, said the problems are believed to be tied to a circuit breaker in the shuttle's cockpit.

If the problems can be fixed the Discovery will launch tomorrow, Thursday, November 4, at 3.29pm EDT.
