MHK unhappy with criminal justice measure

Legislation which would give police in the Isle of Man powers to remove large groups of under-16s from areas where they congregated is too heavy handed, even if offences were being committed.

That’s the strong belief of Rushen MHK Quintin Gill, who says he is vehemently opposed to the idea, in the Criminal Justice Bill, which has been given a second reading in the House of Keys.

The measure has been criticised by a number of children's services on the Island, and Mr Gill says it's unnecessary:
