Local input’s considered vital and Maughold residents are being asked to make their views known.
Two public meetings will take place this week as Maughold prepares to link into IRIS.
Officials from the Island’s Water and Sewerage Authority will present plans for new sewage facilities in the parish.
The first meeting is at the Dhoon Church Hall in Glen Mona on Tuesday evening (November 2) at 6.30pm, with the Parish Hall in Maughold Village hosting the second meeting on Wednesday night at the same time.
Replacement pumping and treatment facilities are proposed in several areas including the Corony, Glen Mona, Port Lewaigue, Maughold Village and Port Mooar.
While commissioners welcome plans to improve the quality of sewage emissions to the seas off the Maughold coastline, they want to ensure improvements are achieved in the most efficient manner possible; with minimum impact on the visual environment and the local community.
They’re encouraging ratepayers to attend either meeting.
