More childcare questions in Keys

by isleofman.com 30th October 2010

Five bills and fifteen questions are lined up to be dealt with by MHKs on Tuesday.

There are eleven questions for oral answer and four for written reply, while one bill is down for its first reading and four are up for their second.

On top of that, there's a move to include cats on the list of animals motorists are required by law to report, if they run one over.

Social Care Minister Martyn Quayle will face more questions about the Childcare Inquiry, following criticism of his division in Tynwald over a lack of independent inspections since the hearings in 2006.

East Douglas MHK Brenda Cannell will ask him to hold a briefing for MHKs on how much progress has been made towards bringing in the recommendations of the inquiry report.

Onchan MHK David Quirk will reprise his Tynwald questions about how much cash local authorities have in housing reserve funds, a query also directed at Mr Quayle.

And Home Affairs Minister Adrian Earnshaw will face questions from North Douglas MHK John Houghton about the future of the Victoria Road prison site.

The move to have cats added to the list of animals which must be reported following collisions with motor vehicles is from South Douglas MHK David Cretney.

Manx Radio will broadcast live coverage of question time from the House of Keys, on its AM1368 frequency from 10am on Tuesday.
