Witness appeal follows Jamie's death

South Yorkshire police have positioned signs appealing for witnesses at the scene of a road accident in Sheffield, in which a 19-year-old student from the Isle of Man lost his life.

Jamie Haslett, a student at the city's Hallam University, was killed in an incident involving a police car in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The United Kingdom's Independent Police Complaints Commission is conducting an investigation and has met with members of Jamie's family.

The accident happened at the junction of Broad Lane and Mappin Street, which Radio Hallam reporter Charlotte Gallagher says is a very busy part of the city:
