The MHK with responsibility for local government is praising the initiative of two authorities which are joining forces for refuse collections.
Graham Gregeen says he has had meetings with commissioners around the Island about how certain services could be run more effectively.
From the start of November, Port Erin and Port St Mary will run a six-week trial which will see one vehicle collect refuse for both local authorities, in a bid to save money.
