ISLAND businessman Stuart "The Brand" Baggs has narrowly survived another boardroom showdown on The Apprentice.
Stuart, who had kept a low profile in the last two episodes, was back on form for this week's task – selling innovative products to the trade.
With Stuart, 21, declaring that "everything he touches turns to sold" in his application video – this task should have been his forte.
Unfortunately his rude and abrasive questioning of one of the product manufacturers had his team members despairing with Stella exclaiming: "You can't speak to someone like that – that was quite frankly embarrassing."
The product the team were after - a baby grow which changed colour when a babies temperature raised above the normal average - was lost.
As a result they were forced to sell a two handed spade and an eco showerhead which Stuart was left to demonstrate in the pitches.
This did not run smoothly when Stuart discovered that the display unit for the shower didn't work properly.
At one point he was seen chewing at it in front of buyers from a nationwide plumbing company before eventually declaring: "I don't know what's wrong with it."
Despite this mishap the team brought in a grand total of £76,000 of orders – however Stuart did not secure any individual sales.
The team were beaten by the opposition and project manager Jamie brought Stuart and Melissa back into the boardroom.
Explaining his reasons Jamie told Lord Sugar: "Ironically the two people who do this as a day job come back empty handed. On paper these two should have had the fattest order books."
In his second boardroom situation a visibly nervous Stuart was criticised by his colleagues.
Melissa – in trying to save her own skin –said: "Look Stuart every time you open your mouth you offend somebody in the vicinity."
When asked by Lord Alan why he should not be fired Stuart cited his business experience selling yo-yos.
He said: "I have achieved everything that I have with such little resources. If I'm given the opportunity to work for you with your massive resources I can make millions of pounds for you.
"I am 100 per cent confident. I have done it already selling yo-yos in the school playground. Frankly if I'm project manager I would love to show you exactly what I can do - and then fall on my sword if I fail."
Stuart's passionate appeal to his potential boss worked and Lord Sugar fired Melissa from the competition.
He did however leave Stuart with a word of warning for his future conduct and said: "In the past few weeks some of the stuff coming out of your mouth is a lot of hot air. Just make sure you think before you talk."
"You're young but this is not a kindergarten. You still find it hard to control your mouth in front of other people which is something that I cannot accept at all."
