HEAVY rain and strong winds overnight have led to debris being left on a number of roads.

Police said there are leaves and twigs on rural and main roads while there is thick fog and heavy rain on the Mountain Road.

Sergeant George Quilliam said: "I would ask that motorists drive safely according to the prevailing conditions. It may be worth setting off for work a little earlier than usual today."
