SOCIAL Care Minister Martyn Quayle will face a series of questions in the House of Keys tomorrow (Tuesday).
Onchan MHK and Liberal Vannin member Peter Karran, Douglas East MHK Brenda Cannell, Douglas North MHK John Houghton and Onchan MHK David Quirk have all tabled questions for Mr Quayle.
Mr Karran will ask Mr Quayle what plans the Department of Social Care has to help those people who need home care support to meet the extra cost because of VAT increasing to 20 per cent.
He will also quiz Mr Quayle on what action his department will take to keep older people in their homes and out of residential and nursing care for longer and what new benefits and services are being brought in to achieve this.
Finally he also wants to know what steps have been taken to protect front line services provided by his department from being cut.
Mrs Cannell wants Mr Quayle to answer whether a person's state pension ceases to be paid when they are serving a sentence in the Isle of Man Prison and, if so, whether there is an appeal process.
Mr Houghton is seeking to find out whether the Department of Social Care supports applicants for state retirement pensions to receive payments in cash at post office counters while Mr Quirk is enquiring what funds are held by each housing authority and for special needs and what their housing reserve funds are.
