Around 500 people packed the church with around the same amount of well-wishers gathering outside the church gates in Upper Church Street.

Thousands of people lined the Douglas Promenades clapping as Sir Norman's coffin passed.

As the horse drawn carriage carrying Sir Norman's body pulled up outside the church it was saluted by a Standard Bearer.

Sir Norman's famous "gimp" hat sat proudly on his coffin as it was taken into the church.
