TRIBUTES have been paid to Sir Norman Wisdom at his funeral service which has taken place this afternoon.
Some of Norman's closest acquaintances including his son Nick and agent Johnny Mans have made heartfelt tributes to the popular actor and comedian.
Son Nick started the tributes and said: "He was a very caring and loving father - always greeting us with a hug and kiss right to the very end."
The congregation burst into laughter when Nick described his father's traits commenting: "Our father had many qualities but it is fair to say that table manners was not one of them."
Nick said his father would "always make time for people" despite often running late himself and said: "He will always live on in our memories."
He told the congregation that Sir Norman had requested the message "Phew he was old" on his headstone sparking more laughter from mourners.
Sir Norman Wisdom's grandson also read a poem written by his grandfather called Gratitude.
Sir Norman will be buried in a private burial in Bride later today.
