BUDDING artists and animators aged eight and over have the opportunity to get involved in animation workshops this half term.
The Family Library has planned an exciting project as part of The Big Draw campaign which will see children taught illustration and animation by professional artists.
Mary Cousins, librarian in charge, said: "The Big Draw is all about getting everyone to have a go at drawing and have some fun."
Artist Krista Magee, who teaches animation at the Family Library, said: "During these sessions we will animate a Hop-tu-Naa story using a mixture of 2D and 3D animation.
"There is definitely something for all levels of ability. Drawing is a very useful skill for lots of reasons and it's a really great tool for exploring imagination and invention."
International sculptor professor Michael Sandle RA and local artist and illustrator Juan Moore - whose work has been published in The New Yorker and The Guardian - will also be at the sessions to give drawing tuition.
Mary concluded: "This is an incredible opportunity for local children and I really hope they grab it with both hands."
The sessions will take place from Tuesday, October 27, to Saturday, October 30, from 12pm to 3pm at the Family Library in Westmoreland Road, Douglas. They cost £15 per person.
