A GROUP of sixth formers and five members of staff will sleep in the grounds of Ballakermeen High School, Douglas, tomorrow night (Friday) in aid of homeless charity Kemmyrk.
The 26 students involved have raised sponsor money and will be spending a substantial part of the night sleeping outside with just a sleeping bag and cardboard.
The event will run from 7pm to 7am.
There will be a soup kitchen running in the early part of the evening and tea and coffee will be available throughout the night.
Deputy head of sixth form Ollie Mitchell said: "Clearly Friday is going to be quite cold so this event will be a real challenge for the many participants."
Kemmyrk - which is Manx for a place of refuge, shelter or protection - was formed to help homeless people in the Island.
Not only does it help those with no accommodation but also people living somewhere that is unsuitable, unsafe or short term.
The charity's vision is that everyone has the opportunity to access housing appropriate to their need.
