Age Concern welcomes new chief executive

by isleofman.com 18th October 2010

The chief executive of Age Concern Isle of Man is to stand down at the end of the year.

Penny Creighton MBE will be replaced by former headteacher of St Ninian's High School George Quayle.

Mr Quayle retired last year after 24 years at the school, and nearly 15 in the top job.

As a former geography teacher he says he has always had an interest in social demographics.

Mr Quayle also believes the Island's ageing population will present many problems over the coming decades, placing increasing demands on his new employer.

Mrs Creighton says she is sad to be leaving but is confident her successor can inspire the group of people he will have around him and further the hopes and ambitions of Age Concern Isle of Man.
