Cement mixer and chainsaw stolen from garage

by isleofman.com 18th October 2010

CASTLETOWN police are investigating after building and gardening equipment was stolen from a property under renovation in Main Road, Santon.

Offenders forced their way into a secured garage by smashing a window on the side of the building. Once inside they forced the garage door open, damaging it in the process.

They stole a number of pieces of equipment including a bright orange cement mixer (without a stand), an orange chainsaw, a strimmer and a red and silver Honda petrol powered lawn mower.

The crime happened between 3pm on Saturday, October 9 and 9am on Monday, October 11 and the culprits used a vehicle - more than likely a large van or pickup truck.

Police suspect the offenders will try to sell the items to people within the building and gardening trades.

Anyone with information should contact PC Lee Wright at Castletown Police Station on 822222 or ring the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
