High praise for inaugural festival

The first Isle of Man Choir Festival was a great success and will run and run.

That's the verdict of adjudicator and renowned choirmaster Dr Alwyn Humphreys.

Speaking after awarding the Choir of the Festival trophy to Keighley Vocal Union from West Yorkshire, Dr Humphreys praised the 'impeccable' organisation of the event.

He also thanked all those who had taken part (first part of audio file):

Musical Director of Keighley Vocal Union Frank Smith was delighted to have taken the 'Choir of the Festival' accolade, but pointed out it wasn't the first time they had won a festival on the Island (second part of audio file):
