Chairman hoping to make Tynwald appeal

by isleofman.com 18th October 2010

A direct appeal to the Manx parliament for a new GP surgery is Kirk Michael is on the cards this week.

Chairman of Michael Commissioners Steve Hamer wants to address members from the Bar of Tynwald, before they discuss plans to spend ?1.6 million on a new doctors' surgery in Jurby, on Wednesday morning.

Mr Hamer has been told he can do so by President of Tynwald Noel Cringle, subject to the court's approval.

Kirk Michael is currently served by Ramsey GPs at a branch surgery in the village.

The proposed Jurby health centre, serving Kirk Michael, Ballaugh and Jurby, would mean patients having to travel further.

Mr Hamer's hoping he gets the opportunity to put his case:
