More changes to new timetable from Monday

by isleofman.com 15th October 2010

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has made further amendments to the Island's new bus timetable, which was introduced last month.

It says the changes are the result of its commitment to review and amend the new services, and will be effective from next Monday, October 18.

The key changes include additional morning services between Onchan and Governor’s Hill and Douglas, increased services to Port Jack and the promenades, and the improvement of morning, evening and weekend services to Ballachrink, Onchan.

The department says passengers leaving the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre Complex will be able to board a free service to Lord Street at 22:50pm, to allow them to transfer to onward connections.

Early services from Anagh Coar to the new Noble's Hospital will be provided at weekends, from Saturday, October 23.

Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure David Cretney says he made it clear he would consider any comments made about the new bus timetable and do what he could to fix any problems.

He says the Road Traffic Licensing Committee has now approved a second series of changes and his department will continue to make adjustments where it can.

There will be a review of the entire network in December.
