by isleofman.com 15th October 2010

A PROGRAMME about the life of Sir Norman Wisdom will be screened on BBC Two tonight (Friday).

Norman Wisdom: His Story is an hour long programme and starts at 9pm.

The actor's life story is told through the people who knew him well - his son and daughter Nick and Jaqui Wisdom and his daughter-in-law Kim, plus film director Stephen Frears, actors Ricky Tomlinson, Leslie Phillips and Honor Blackman and singer Dame Vera Lynn.

Sir Norman, who died at the Abbotswood Nursing Home in Ballasalla earlier this month at the age of 95, was the Isle of Man's most famous resident.

He had lived in the Isle of Man for many years. One of his most famous films, a Stitch In Time, is being shown at the Broadway Cinema at the Villa Marina in Douglas tomorrow and Sunday as a tribute to him.
