TWO appliances from Castletown fire station were called to a fire at a lock up garage at the rear of Westhill Avenue yesterday.
An unattended bonfire in a garden had ignited a length of fascia board and guttering causing smoke logging within the garage.
The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters using a high pressure water jet.
The incident happened at 2.40pm.
Station Officer Graham Quayle said people should never leave bonfires unattended, always have firefighting equipment to hand, inform the Emergency Services' Joint Control Room that a controlled burning is in progress and leave relevant contact details.
