UK expert demystifying mental health

by isleofman.com 15th October 2010

An expert in mental health from the United Kingdom has been holding a series of workshops with service users and professionals, on the subject of recovery.

The sessions have been organised by the Service Users' Network - or SUN - a Manx charity, which invited John McCormack to the Island from Glasgow to mark World Mental Health Week.

John says he spends a lot of time demystifying mental health, and trying to explain to people it is something which everybody has.

He also says we can all help each other by looking out for changes in behaviour which might indicate the onset of conditions such as depression or anxiety (play audio file):

John McCormack will be one of Stuart Peters' guests during the second part of Talking Heads, from 1.20 this afternoon.
