It's all over in Delhi

by isleofman.com 14th October 2010

The curtain has come down on the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Fourteen-year-old archer Aalin George carried the Manx flag at the closing ceremony in Delhi on Thursday afternoon.

As the baton was handed on to Glasgow, which will host the event in 2014, Manx Radio's sports editor Tim Glover said there was much for the Island to be proud of (play audio file):

The Isle of Man finished 31st in the medal table, but came second to the Pacific island of Nauru in terms of medals per population, with bronzes for cyclist Mark Christian and shooter Tim Kneale.
