EMMERDALE Farm and Doctor Who actor Frazer Hines will launch his latest tour - which celebrates 50 years in showbiz - in the Isle of Man.

Frazer, who is mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest serving companion in Doctor Who, will perform at the Erin Arts Centre on October 30.

The British actor became a household name playing Joe Sugden in Emmerdale Farm and for the last few years has been performing his successful one man show on cruise ships - travelling everywhere from the Mediterranean to Norway.

To celebrate his 50 years in show business he will take the show on tour around the UK.

In the show Frazer will share entertaining stories of the highs and lows of his life and career. These will include his years in film and television, stage tours and life as a jockey and cricketer.

He will also talk about his 11 year battle with cancer.

The talk will be illustrated with clips from his screen career including Doctor Who and Emmerdale and clips from cinema roles where he worked alongside Michael Caine, Omar Sharif, Michael York and his earliest performance with Charlie Chaplin.

In the second half of the show Frazer will take questions from the audience and there will be an opportunity to obtain his autobiography "Hines Sight" which was recently published.

Frazer is no stranger to the Island and said "The first time I was in the Island I came in especially in a helicopter from Blackpool to do a televised charity event with Nina Carter.

"After that I came for an event hosted by the local 'Doctor Who' society and this also gave me the chance to have a tour of the Island and to meet many of its lovely and friendly people. It was raining during that last visit, so I'm hoping for some sunshine and to have another ride in a horse-drawn tram.

"I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and hoping for a full house at the Erin Arts Centre!"
