Velvet Lobster launches its Christmas menu

by isleofman.com 13th October 2010

THE VELVET Lobster has published its Christmas lunch, dinner and private party menu which will be available throughout December.

This will be the cafe bar’s third Christmas at its premises on North Quay, Douglas and owner Allan Fair is expecting another very busy festive season with many bookings already taken.

The Christmas lunch and dinner menu is available from December 6th and features classic Christmas dishes, using top quality Manx produce - a key feature of the dining experience all year round.

Amongst the dishes on the four course £20.95 menu is coarse pork terrine, Manx beef and stilton pie, Manx hogget stew and Affagato - the Velvet Lobster’s own dish of ice cream drowned in hot espresso and amaretto.

The private party menu - catering for groups up to 28 - is £30 per head for four courses and features roast rib of Manx beef and the intriguingly named “Junkie Pig” - a boned and rolled pork shoulder injected with honey, balsamic, cacao and white wine marinade.

Allan Fair says that Christmas bookings must be made at least two weeks in advance and that anyone with allergies or special dietary requirements will be happily catered for.
