MARK Cavendish finished a disappointing seventh in the men's road race in Delhi today (Sunday).

There had been high hopes for the Manxman at the Commonwealth Games.

Allan Davis won gold for Australia, with New Zealand's Hayden Roulston second and David Millar of Scotland winning bronze.

Cavendish was about half a minute back.
