Lowly Malew caused the surprise of the day in JCK Division Two on Saturday as they won 3-2 at high flying Ramsey Youth Centre.

Goals from Adam Drewett (two) and Dean Kinley sealed an unexpected victory for the southerners, made all the more impressive as they played the entire second half with 10 men.

All the goals came in the first half with Martin Murphy and Steven Jordan finding the net for the home side but it was Malew’s day.

Fourth placed Colby failed to capitalise as the Police produced an amazing fightback at Groves Road.

Colby looked set to secure all three points as a Chris McKenna penalty and James Collett and Ricky Kniveton goals fired them into a 3-0 lead.

However, the Police reduced the arrears twice before half-time and pulled off a superb 4-3 success, courtesy of goals from Gavin Brew, Richard McCann, David Bine and Craig Cowin.

Those results allowed Union Mills to move clear in second place as two goals from Steven Quine, one from the penalty spot, and one apiece from Paul Blair and Paul Crilly sealed a 4-0 win at Douglas and District.

The St John’s juggernaut continued as they saw off Foxdale 9-2 in a western derby.

Doubles from Steven Glover, Mike Peace and Andy Chadwick and one each from Callum Gallagher, Dave Cain and Andy Glover meant Liam Harrison’s reply, plus an own goal, was all Foxdale had to show for their efforts.

Adam Store was the match-winner as Pulrose defeated Marown by a solitary goal, while a John Quaye hat-trick helped Onchan consolidate fifth spot with a 6-1 win at bottom club Ronaldsway.

Rob Byrne, Mark Walmsley and a penalty from their goalkeeper ensured a comfortable afternoon.
