'Watching brief' on child benefit changes

There are no immediate plans to scrap child benefit for higher earning families in the Isle of Man.

However, proposals to change the rates paid will be considered by the Council of Ministers.

The chief minister has been responding to the coalition government's announcement that, from 2013, it will stop benefit payments to all United Kingdom households in which there is a person earning a sum just under ?44,000 a year.
