Sixth place for Christian in scratch race

by isleofman.com 8th October 2010

Mark Christian has finished a creditable sixth in the men's 20km scratch race at the Commonwealth Games.

The 20-year-old Manx cyclist was also the first rider from any of the British Isles nations to cross the line.

Chris Whorrall did not finish.

The race was dominated by Australian Cameron Meyer, who lapped the field to claim his third gold medal of the games.

Meyer's fellow Australian Michael Freiberg got silver and Canadian Zach Bell won the bronze.
