THE death of Sir Norman Wisdom has attracted worldwide media coverage.
And the Isle of Man - Sir Norman's home for many years - has featured prominently in many reports.
The death of the 95-year-old comic actor, who died on Monday at Abbotswood Nursing Home in Ballasalla, has understandably featured in all the UK national media but also countless countries as far apart as Canada and China.
Sir Norman was particularly famous in Albania after becoming the only western actor whose films were allowed in the country during the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha.
Albania's Prime Minister Sali Berisha said: "I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of one of the greatest actors of world comedy, a particular favourite actor of Albanian audiences, and one of the dearest friends of our nation Sir Norman Wisdom."
Closer to home, the popular BBC programme The One Show has representatives in the Island today (Wednesday) to film a piece about Sir Norman.
As well as filming at Sir Norman's Bar at the Sefton Hotel and the Gaiety Theatre, Douglas, the team will be visiting locations around the Isle of Man which Norman loved.
The programme will feature interviews with Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK and Sefton Hotel manager Dave Woodiwiss.
isleofman.com reporter Bill Dale will also be interviewed. Bill was a close friend of Norman and worked on the book Lucky Little Devil with the comedy great.
The coverage will be screened tomorrow.
