THE organisers of a fun day which had been due to take place in the south of the Island last Sunday have said it will be rearranged in the springtime.
The Southern Multi-Agency Team event should have been held at Ronaldsway Sports and Social Club and would have offered young people the chance to try out new hobbies.
But torrential overnight rain meant organisers were left with no alternative but to postpone the event.
Karen Davies, chairman of the Southern MAT, said: "Sadly we took the decision when we arrived at 9.30am on Sunday.
"The car park was flooded and the pitch waterlogged, which did not bode well for the day.
"We would not have been able to allow any vehicles onto the grass, so we had no choice but to call the event off for the time being.
"It was really disappointing as there had been so much interest this year.
"We had almost 30 car booters and around 28 clubs had promised to be there showcasing hobbies, sports and pastimes."
Karen and her team set about contacting all participants by phone and put up signs around the venue to alert anyone attending that the event was off.
She added: "We apologise to everyone for the inconvenience caused. We will rearrange the event but it will probably be in the spring, now, as once the clocks go back it is dark and we are unlikely to get a good afternoon."
