Sir Norman Wisdom dies

COMEDY legend Sir Norman Wisdom died at a nursing home in the Isle of Man yesterday  (Monday).

 

The actor - who was the Island's most famous resident - was 95.

 

He was famous for numerous slapstick film roles and was a well loved resident of the Isle of Man.

 

Sir Norman's Bar at the Sefton Hotel in Douglas is named after him and a statue of Sir Norman sits on a bench outside the front door.

 

His catchphrase "Mr Grimsdale" was known worldwide and Sir Norman was known for his charity work and was loved by fans young and old.

 

His autobiography, My Turn, included his move to the Isle of Man.

 

Sir Norman is considered among the all time comedy greats and is closely associated with the Island.
