by isleofman.com 4th October 2010

THE first ever archers from the Isle of Man to compete in the Commonwealth Games have been in action today.

The trio of Sarah Rigby, Aalin George and Adrian Bruce took part in a "seeding" round at the games in Delhi.

The order which the competitors finished in today determined who they will shoot against in tomorrow's matches.

UNOFFICIAL RESULTS

Ladies (32 entries)

20th Aalin George - 670 points (unofficial Manx record)

24th Sarah Rigby

Men (48 entries)

43rd Adrian Bruce.

Team manager Peter Mumford said Aalin shot really well and was really pleased with her performance.

Sarah was a little disappointed as she had hoped to finish a bit higher up while Adrian was disappointed with his shoot - he had started well but had a bit of a bad patch later on.

All team members are looking forward to starting with a clean sheet tomorrow.
