New bus timetable was 'trigger' for resignation

The MHK who resigned from her position within the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure, over the Island's new bus timetable, still believes she did the right thing.

Brenda Cannell, who had delegated responsibility for public transport, stood down during a meeting called by North Douglas MHKs John Houghton and Bill Henderson, at which users of the service had a chance to air concerns over the revised schedules.

Mrs Cannell is also making it clear the timetable was the trigger to her decision, and not the whole reason behind it:
