There's a chance for youngsters in the south of the Island to get fit and have fun today (Sunday), trying out new sports and hobbies.

A Fun Day has been organised by the Southern Multi-Agency Team, a joint project involving government departments, the Isle of Man Constabulary and the Island's Youth Service.

A wide range of activities is on offer including climbing, badminton, rugby, cricket, bowling, basketball, table tennis and dance.

The event at the Ronaldsway Sports and Social Club is free and all activities will be supervised.

The organised approach to fun for young people is being mounted by the Multi-Agency Team or MAT, a broad coaltion of organsations which aims to steer yound people in a positive direction.

Local sports clubs will be represented, while the Army Cadets, Community Youth Bus, Castletown Silver Band and other groups will also be there.

There will also be a giant car boot sale, face painting and arts and crafts.

Any proceeds will go to SPort Erin to encourage youngsters of the south to get involved in sport.

The event runs from 12 noon to 4pm.
