MHK under fire in bus row

by isleofman.com 30th September 2010

A union chief says a North Douglas MHK needs to ‘take a look closer to home’ after his personal criticism of the leisure minister over the Island’s new bus network.

John Houghton has been accused of interfering in negotiations amid suggestions bus drivers were threatened with 90 days notice if they failed to accept the changes.

Steve Salter from Unite says Mr Houghton - now the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission - is trying to undermine what’s been achieved and has done nothing but stand in the way of good industrial relations.
