A 29-year-old Peel man will appear in court again for sentencing in November, after hitting his pregnant girlfriend.
John Andrew Ball, of Heathfield Drive, admitted assault when he appeared before the deputy high bailiff.
Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting, said police were called to Ball's home in Castle Drive, Douglas in September, following a complaint.
Ball admitted pinning his partner to a sofa by her throat when she was six and a half months pregnant, and hitting her across the side of the face.
His advocate asked for a social report to be prepared, and Ball was bailed until November 5.
