Wind power will play a part in the Isle of Man's long term energy solutions, but it isn't the only option.
So said Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture John Shimmin at a public meeting in Ballaugh last night (Tuesday).
Over 200 people squeezed into the parish hall, to hear United Kigdom-based Ocean Electric Power outline plans for up ten turbines, scattered along the Island's Northwest coastline.
It was also an opportunity for residents of the area to raise concerns and objections, and most of those present voted for alternative wave and tidal projects to be considered.
