One month left to vote in Tourism Awards

by isleofman.com 29th September 2010

RESIDENTS and visitors in the Isle of Man have one month left to vote in the 2010 Tourism Awards.

So far over 900 voting cards have been received – three times more than last year.

The Tourism Awards celebrate the best of the Island’s tourism and hospitality sector and people can nominate in nine award categories.

These include best customer service, hotel accommodation, guest accommodation, self-catering accommodation, eating out experience, camp site and hostel, attraction, town/village and event of the year.

Geoff Corkish MHK, Political Member for Isle of Man Tourism, said: "The Tourism Awards are part of our strategic objective to drive up quality and service within the hospitality industry. They are awarded to recognise what is one of the Island’s most important growth sectors in terms of developing the Island’s economy.

"We have a great deal to be proud of and the awards give us an opportunity to showcase the very best that our Island has to offer."

Nomination cards are available from The Sea Terminal, Manx National Heritage sites, Ronaldsway Airport, Curraghs Wildlife Park, Moore’s Kipper Yard, Railway Stations, Douglas Town Hall and various commissioners offices around the Island.

People can also vote online here.

Nominations will close on Friday, October 29.
