Launch of community facility in the south

by isleofman.com 29th September 2010

Years of work will come to fruition this weekend, with the opening of the Ballasalla Community House.

The project has been driven forward by the village's Community Partnership, under the chairmanship of Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen.

The initial aim is to provide a facility for young people in the village and the building has been equipped with broadband access and laptops for them to use.

Mr Cregeen says it's been a real community effort with many groups donating goods and services to help get the project off the ground (play audio file):

The opening of the Ballasalla Community House is this Saturday, October 2, from 12 noon to 3pm, and everyone is welcome to go along.
