by isleofman.com 28th September 2010

A MANX website which acts as a networking and recruitment portal for employees and employers in the Isle of Man has registered its 100th employer.

AM Limited registered with the Manx Graduates website to find a graduate for a marketing position within the company.

Manx Graduates provides employers immediate and easy access to a searchable database of potential employees who are looking for work in the Island.

Adam Clayton, managing director of AM Limited, said: "AM Limited always aims to employ talented and creative people. Manx Graduates allows AML the possibility of finding such people without the normal constraints of the recruitment process."

The benefits of online media channels for recruitment have been recognised by individuals and employers alike.

Chris Gledhill, managing director of PDMS said: "If you use conventional advertising means it can be very fleeting and it’s also difficult to reach the large number of graduates living abroad.

"Portals such as Manx Graduates provide a different way of monitoring a connection with a particular group. The overall aim is to build a community that people can remain part of and that they can dip into whenever it’s relevant to them."

The Manx Graduates portal, a Department of Economic Development initiative, was developed by local software developer PDMS in 2008.

The website has over 1,000 individual users comprising of professionals, graduates and students all with a connection to the Isle of Man.
