Key figures in the Anglican Church on the Isle of Man will be receiving letters from Bishop Robert in the next few weeks, as he seeks local backing to implement wide-ranging changes in the way the organisation is run.
The changes have just moved a significant step closer with the approval by the Queen of a list of requests from the bishop, from a report containing 78 recommendations, which he published just over a year ago.
Among other things, they highlighted the need for smaller parishes to share a vicar and proposed the creation of four Mission Partnerships, to replace the existing Rural Deaneries.
Bishop Robert says there has been opposition to some of his ideas but they have the support of an overwhelming majority of people.
