Officials at the Department of Social Care say they are satisfied patients at a home in Douglas which is to close, at least temporarily, will get suitable alternative care.
Managers at the Saddle Mews care home are in the process of meeting residents and their relatives to explain what will happen at the facility, which will be out of use while building work is carried out.
Residents will be given the chance to transfer to the Kings Reach care home in Ramsey, also operated by Four Seasons Health Care.
Department of Social Care officials have confirmed both homes are up to standard and that residents will be given sufficient time to make alternative plans.
However, there is thought to be concern among staff and residents that Saddle Mews may close permanently.
